TechHOUNDS, this school’s robotics team, kicked off their build season on Jan. 3. Since then, members have begun building different robot prototypes. TechHOUNDS sponsor and teacher John
Coghlan said the practice field has been built and is ready to be used. According to TechHOUNDS student team coleader and junior Jackson Otto, the TechHOUNDS robots are being built to be more offensive.
The game objective is to move storage boxes and stack them. Otto said, “The game is different from other ones because winning revolves around offense. It makes things easier but less fun to watch.”
Coghlan said the robot building is currently on schedule. “We’ve built sites where members can practice stacking the boxes and test out different prototypes.”
The first TechHOUNDS competition is Indianapolis District and will take place on Feb. 27 at Lawrence North High School.
