According to Jennifer Bubp, Art Club sponsor and art teacher, Art Club is preparing for a silent art auction for the Empty Bowls charity on Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. The club will collaborate with the student government to raise money for food pantries through the event. For $7, each visitor will receive a take-home pottery bowl made by a ceramics student and a soup dinner.
Bubp said Art Club members are creating gift baskets and greeting cards in preparation for the auction.
Madison Tubbs, Art Club president and junior, said she was excited for the fundraising event. “I like how we’re donating to charities and helping them out,” she said.
Bubp also said the club was also working to set up a free face-painting booth at the Ghost and Goblins 5K on Oct. 24 in order to help the Carmel Education Foundation.
