FCCLA shared a post on Instagram with students collaborating during a club meeting. Marissa Cheslock, student leader of FCCLA and senior, said the club will continue to hold bimonthly meetings for each cohort to account for the hybrid schedule and ensure space for social distancing.
Over the next few weeks, the members of Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) will be preparing for upcoming competitive events such as the State Leadership Conference and STAR Events. The first chapter meeting of the second semester is Jan. 14 for members of the Greyhound Cohort in Room B101 to make plans for these competitions.
FCCLA Adviser Nancy Spencer said via email, “Most meetings are functioning similarly as they have in the past, but we are continuing with meetings that will hold separate cohorts to make sure we meet the social distancing requirements. Students are working hard on their projects and plans for upcoming competitions.”
Marissa Cheslock, FCCLA student leader and senior, said the club is ramping up as March and April are the busiest months with competitive events.
Cheslock said, “We have an officer meeting this week to discuss our plans for the State Leadership Conference, which is scheduled to be in-person on April 14. We’re encouraging members to get started on their STAR Events if they haven’t already, as those will be presented virtually throughout March.”
