Next PTO meeting will be on Nov. 1 at 9 a.m. in the community room. According to PTO president Amy Kline, there will not be many notable events until spring.
Kline said, “In terms of big events, our big thing was really Homecoming, Open House and registration. It all just really happened in a four-week period, and we sort of slowed down a bit now until spring. There’s always stuff happening, and we always have the support in terms of volunteers and places where they need us . . . Right now we’re sort of calming down a bit.”
For most of October, the PTO will be recapping the Homecoming dance and the extent of its success. According to Kline, they will also discuss where the collected money—mainly from PTO membership dues and the homecoming ticket sales—will be headed towards in the school. In the upcoming meeting, the PTO will review the new calendar for the school board and discuss memberships.
“Our direction is really being a support to the whole school, to teachers and to students. We’re not there to run anything or take over anything. I mean, we are just a support group for the school.
“(Homecoming) was a fun experience,” junior Sen Xiong said, “The PTO did a great job planning for the dance, and I appreciate their efforts.”
