According to club sponsor James Ziegler, Do Something Club members will meet Nov. 1 to make fleece blankets again. They will donate the blankets to Joy’s House who will then donate the blankets to a battered women’s shelter in Indianapolis. Club members should bring fleece to the meeting, he said.
“Last year, I think we made 16 fleece blankets for the battered women’s shelter, and this year my goal is to try to get that to 20,” Ziegler said.
According to Hunter Leonard, club co-president and junior, Do Something Club members raised over $70 for relief efforts in Kenya from the Pay to Play event on Oct. 18.
Ziegler said the turnout was low due to scheduling conflicts, and he plans on holding a similar event later in the year.
