The next Aperture Club meeting is tentatively scheduled to occur on Nov. 14, according to Conner Gordon, Aperture Club president and senior. Gordon said he wants to continue to focus on recruiting more members. At the next meeting, he said he will continue to get more member input on what the members want to gain from the club.
Gordon said at the last meeting members decided on their first monthly contest.
“We decided to do the theme of childhood memories,” Gordon said. “I’m hoping that we get a lot of interesting input from the members.”
According to Gordon, members will each submit a picture of their childhood memories and they will look at the pictures and critique them.
As for the club’s long-term goals, Gordon said he hopes to get a professional photographer to come in and speak to club members. He said the photographers help the members by giving them a behind-the-scenes look at professional photography.
Sponsor Jim Streisel said, “I try not to give too much input. It’s the students’ club and I want them to participate and feel comfortable in the group setting.”
