Film Club members will meet in Room E150 on Jan. 19 to watch the movie “Erin Brockovich.” The movie will run from 3:15 to 5:40 p.m., according to sponsor Robyn Huss. Students wishing to attend must turn in a permission slip because the movie is rated R.
“If the students missed the call-out meeting, they can come by [Room E150] to pick up the packet of information and a permission slip,” Huss said.
The movie features a twice-divorced mother, played by actress Julia Roberts, who comes across a cluster of illnesses in a nearby town, investigates and quickly exposes an enormous cover-up. Roberts was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Actress in 2001.
At the end of every movie, students take a trivia quiz with 10 multiple-choice questions. According to member and junior Alexis Albrecht, the questions cover the summary and characters of the movie. New members will be given 30 points, according to Huss.
“You get prizes at the very end of the year,” Albrecht said.
