The next Aperture Club meeting will be Feb. 13 in Room C147 after school, according to Conner Gordon, Aperture Club president and senior. Gordon said the meeting is going to be a lighting workshop.
“The point is to try to create a professional lighting effect without the expensive $1,000 equipment,” Gordon said.
Along with the lighting workshop, Gordon said the next contest’s theme is lighting effects. He said the photograph would not be due until early March, however. Also, he said this theme allows many possibilities and he said he hopes for a variety of different pictures.
Gordon said there was “no defined winner” of last month’s contest, ‘F/8 and be there,’ because he said there are too few members to choose a winner every time and he said that he does not want the same person winning.
As for the rest of the year, he said he plans to do some sort of partnership with the club Invisible Children, but that it is not his top priority. Also, he said he would like to have a professional photographer come in at some point but he is not sure if it will happen.
When asked about his role in the club, sponsor Jim Streisel said, “I try not to give too much input. It’s the students’ club and I want them to participate and feel comfortable in the group setting.”
