Geranium order forms are now available for those fundraising for Castaway Camp

Young Life’s Geranium Flower Sales have begun. According to head sponsor Jake Van Asten, this is a wonderful opportunity for Young Life members looking to raise some money for Castaway Camp.

“The geranium sales are one of the many fundraisers we have a year that allow (the kids) to raise the money themselves,” Van Asten said. “The geranium sales are our most profitable, and we’ve had kids raise enough money from all the fundraisers to pay for their entire trip.”

Members can find the order form on the Carmel Young Life Website. Payments are collected at the time of the order and geraniums will be available for pick-up at 4632 Lisborn Dr.

Kylie Knipscheer, Young Life member who attended Castaway Camp last summer and junior, is considering taking a second trip back to Detroit Lakes this summer. Although Knipscheer will not be participating in the geranium sales, she says it is a good opportunity for those looking to cut down the overall deposit of $799.

“I think I’m going back this year, but I haven’t taken part in any fundraisers,” Knipscheer said. “I have friends who have, though, and they seem like a really good opportunity.”
