According to Key Club sponsor Katie Gray, Key Club is participating in the Hamilton County Kids Coat drive again this year. Students are encouraged to donate their unused winter clothing items through Oct. 26.
“Currently about 18,000 Hamilton County residents are living below the poverty line. Last year, the association collected and distributed around 3,000 clothing items. I hope that Key Club members can donate more items this year to enlarge the number,” Gray said.
Melody Gao, Key Club president and senior, said that students can bring in items to the Key Club office during Late Start and SRT. Collection boxes can also be found at the entrances of all Carmel sport games. “Before bringing in the coats, students should make sure they are clean,” Gao said.
The next Key Club meeting will be on Oct. 4 in the freshman cafeteria. Students are welcome to attend either the morning session at 7:15 or the afternoon session at 3:15.
