According to sponsor Debbie Lesjak, Rotary Interact Club plans to go to Purdue University for a Rotary Interact conference on Oct. 27. The members will look more into the whole concept of service towards others, go on a tour of Purdue and have an ice cream social.
In addition, the club will show a movie at the club meeting on Oct. 10. Lesjak said it will replace the water balloon fight scheduled for Sept. 29 that was cancelled due to weather.
Lesjak said she will drive the five members of the club to the Rotary Interact conference in one of the mini buses. “The purpose (of the conference) is to build upon what the program already has and also to learn more about Rotary Interact in general,” she said.
President and junior Madeline Moran said, “We will meet with the rest of the Rotary Interact Clubs of central Indiana, and each club will show a minute long video that they made.” She added that the club with the best video will win a prize.
Lesjak said the current number of members has not increased since the beginning of the year, which is why the club members decided to have free pizza and a movie. “I hope this will expand our membership,” Lesjak said.
