Students for Education may be ending as a result of the administrations’ concern for the safety of the students without a club sponsor.
Former club sponsor Sherri Pankratz said that it is a problem with transportation and supervision of the students. According to Pankratz, the administration needs the club sponsor to take the students downtown. Because Pankratz doesn’t have time to go downtown twice a week, she resigned as club sponsor this year.
Pankratz said that as long as the adult is put through criminal background check, it shouldn’t matter who transports the students downtown.
According to Nailah Khatri, club president and senior, they are working with the administration to restart the club.
