The CHS Alumni Hall of Fame committee is looking for nominations in order to select this year’s honorees. All applications are due by Jan. 11.
According to Yushi Homma, committee member and junior, the criteria for which the alumni will be judged on encompass achievement, awards and service to their community.
“Basically, we are just asking people to nominate past CHS graduates who they think have excelled in their field or have helped our community. One year we had a nominee who worked pro bono in Africa. We are just looking for people with exemplary achievements,” Homma said.
According to the committee coordinator Dave Bardos the CHS Alumni Hall of Fame committee usually chooses about two or three alumni to be honored and this is done in conjunction with the top 3% spring banquet. Also, all nominees must have graduated at least 10 years ago from CHS.
“We are trying to publicize the hall of fame more so that we can get more nominees. We have uploaded a requirements rubric on the Carmel High School website under Hall of Fame Nominations. We have also advertised through the Carmel Clay Schools, e-mailed faculty for nominations, and manned a table at Homecoming to seek nominations,” Bardos said via email.
