ASL Club plans what events to partake in the future. Possible events are deaf bowling, close caption signing movies, sports events, and activities dealing with the Indiana School for the Deaf.
Club sponsor Joseph Wheeler said, “We like going to Cool River Pizza and getting to know each other with sign language. Our main goal is to become an ASL Family.”
Katie Connery, senior and ASL Club President, said her main goal is to help other kids learn ASL and anything they need to know.
“Our number one things is to become part of the deaf culture and doing that together will build our friendship,” Connery said.
Wheeler said that they try to plan activities that will help members get better at signing and learn more about the deaf culture. The more practice they get signing, he said, the better they will become at it.
