LifeLines is preparing for its annual Pre-Winter Break Awareness Week, an awareness campaign that will take place from Dec. 10 to Dec. 14. Members will make banners and brainstorm campaign ideas at the next few meetings, according to Nina Sun, LifeLines vice-president and senior.
“So far the committee is thinking up ideas to help encourage students to make the best decisions they can with finals and other events going on,” Sun said.
According to LifeLines sponsor Rebekah Overbey, LifeLines members tallied the number of people who wore seatbelts in all parking lots of the school last week during late start. She said members will use that information to continue teaching CHS students about the dangers of drunk driving and to encourage students to drive safely and make good choices.
“It’s to really make a difference in the lives of others and the lives of their peers,” Overbey said. “It’s trying to encourage their peers to make good choices for not only their own lives, but the lives of others.”
