Share The Music Club is scheduled to perform at the Stratford Nursing Home on Dec. 16. According to Sunhee Han, club president and senior, club members will provide a free holiday-themed concert for the elderly. Han said the holiday season creates a better experience in which to perform for the nursing home residents.
“I know it was more fun for me last year to play holiday music because the music was easier to play technically,” Han said. “I knew that everyone would be able to recognize these songs.”
According to faculty sponsor James Woomert, Share The Music Club members perform for the community at least once a month. Members sign up for time slots on the club’s website and perform with their friends.
“We take the music we work on here and on our own time and perform for the [elderly],” Woomert said. “A big portion of the benefit of music is sharing it with the community.”
