During the next week, students participating in Kids’ Corner will prepare curriculum for the preschoolers who will arrive on Sept. 23.
Kim Lenzo, director of Kid Corner, said, “(Students) have been studying the development of children from birth until 6 years old, and now, we’re just beginning to look at curriculum for child education.”
The preparation for the preschoolers’ arrival includes learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Laura Zaletel, member of Kids’ Corner and senior, said, “Right now, we’re doing CPR and first aid training. Then soon, we’re going to be starting (to go) to our locations.”
Members of Kids’ Corner will teach at not only CHS but also Carmel Middle School and Clay Middle School for the Edu-Care Center.
However, before the preschoolers arrive, the students will mainly work on planning the curriculum.
“This week, we’re going to the library to learn book props,” Zaletel said. “I’m really excited.”
