Homework Helpers, a club where Carmel High School students go to Carmel Elementary School to help the elementary kids with their homework, may not meet this year due to the former sponsor Susan Johnson’s departure from the club.
If students want to restart the Homework Helpers club, they would need to go to the Activities Office for information, or they could ask other teachers to be the sponsor. If a teacher is interested, he or she can email Johnson for information regarding Homework Helpers.
According to Johnson, she will be busy this year.
“I’m sponsoring a different club this year, and then my daughter is keeping me very busy,” she said.
Johnson also added, “She (her daughter) is a freshman this year at Carmel High School, and she is in a band and is keeping me super busy all the time.”
Though Johnson will not be able to sponsor Homework Helpers this year she said, “It is a worthwhile club. The Carmel Elementary kids need it, they need that high school mentor, and they need help with their homework.”
