AVID will host a family dinner night on Nov. 7 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Which Wich Superior Sandwiches on 1430 W. Carmel Drive, with 15 percent of proceeds going to AVID, according to AVID site coordinator Shannon Woodson.
“We invite our AVID students to bring their family out to have their dinner together,” Woodson said. “We make sure the AVID teachers are out also, and it’s just a chance to have dinner and talk outside the classroom.”
AVID junior Tanya Mangalam said she likes the chance for socializing that this event provides.
“I think it’s a fabulous opportunity for parents and students to sit around the same table and have the opportunity to discuss things such as college readiness and the PSAT,” Mangalam said.
