According to Junior Class president Bobby Greaser, the officers are currently spreading word about the upcoming CRU event, Dodgeball Against Homelessness, which will occur on Nov. 14. As a member of CRU himself, Greaser felt the need to help spread the word about it.
“As officers, we’re trying to help spread the word about that (Dodgeball Against Homelessness) and to try and get as many people to sign up for that event as possible,” he said.
According to Junior Class sponsor Ann Mayhew, the officers handle all events related to their class.
Additionally, Greaser said he wanted to advocate the event because it was unique in the aspect of helping the homeless.
“I think it would just be good to try and get juniors out there for one, to have fun, obviously (because) everybody loves dodgeball. Then, for two, you can either pay for it with two dollars or canned food, and now since it’s starting to get around the holiday season, canned food is in high demand for nonprofit organizations,” Greaser said.
