According to Fantasy Sports Club sponsor Mike Meyer, the Fantasy Sports Club plans to have their NCAA draft around the first week of March. This draft is different because according to club president and junior Zach Roop, this event isn’t technically a draft.
“This ‘draft’ is mostly a mini-competition to determine what the final four will be for the NCAA tournament. The person who is most accurate, especially in the final four and the championship game, will get the most points. The tie breakers will be determined by the first few sets of games,” said Meyer.
There will also be a list given out to the students of the players’ rankings, which will also determine points. This way, according to Meyer, will be the most accurate way of determining scores and counting points.
“We (the club) chose to do the NCAA tournament draft at the beginning of March because the actual tournament starts on March 10th. As a club, we want all of our drafts to be as close to the actual event as possible. It makes it more accurate and in my eyes, funner for the members,” said Roop.
