The CHS wrestling team advances four wrestlers to the Regional at North Montgomery High School. The Regional takes place on Saturday, Feb. 4. The wrestling team placed 5th out of 11 teams in the Sectional with four wrestlers receiving third or better to advance to the next round, according to assistant coach Jeremy Stacy.
Among the four wrestlers, sophomore Ben Krege placed third in the Sectional and hopes to place third again in the Regional to advance to Semistate. Krege said he’s been continuing his routine all season and especially during the playoffs.
“(I’ve been) watching video, keeping my weight down, working after practice, and scouting,” Krege said.
The Semistate looks like a tough but achievable route according to Stacy. Stacy said, “We got two guys that can advance. They’ve both got guys they’ve pinned before.”
