According to Michelle Foutz, sponsor of the Economics Club and economics teacher, there will be a call-out meeting sometime soon. Foutz said, “We will be having a call-out meeting in the next couple of weeks.”
Since the club will not meet until sometime in October, Michael Wang, returning club member and sophomore, said he has not begun much preparation.
He said, “(Preparation) is mostly just going through the AP (Microeconomics and Macroeconomics) textbooks.”
Though still far from competition season, Wang has already found some aspects of economics to focus on.
He said, “We’re trying to focus on the stuff that we didn’t do really well on last year, because that’s where we sometimes struggle.”
Both Wang and Foutz have similar goals in mind. Foutz said her goal for the team is to win first in the national finals of the Economics Challenge.
Wang said, “The end goal is of course to be national champions this year.”
