Living Hope Club plans to discuss its involvement with Center for Global Impact (CGI) according to Grace Miller, vice president and junior. Club members will also discuss new ways to fundraise for their cause, as bake sales are not allowed, she said.
CGI helps women, mainly in Cambodia, find their way out of poverty and get a job. They primarily serve victims of human trafficking.
“(Club members) are trying to discuss ways to fundraise to help raise awareness for trafficking and infanticide in Asian countries. We are also trying to discuss ways to get involved with the Center for Global Impact which helps run an organization called byTavi, where they teach women to do things like sew, so that way they can support their families and themselves instead of resorting to trafficking,” said Miller. “Basically (club members) are finding out ways to help out with trunk shows. That way we can help sell the items that the women made in Cambodia, so that the percent of the profit goes back to them.”
Sponsor Diana LaRose also said club members are trying to find new ways to fundraise.
