The planetarium club now has a planetarium with two brand new, newly added HD projectors, ready to be used for its next meeting, Nov. 4, and the next public show, Nov. 21.
A project three years in the making, costing somewhere between $5,000 and $8,000, finally came true as two new projectors were added to the planetarium. The projectors will be able to enhance the overall experience of the planetarium.
“I think being able to see bigger and more high quality images will help pick out the small details,” said Diana Gorin, senior and club member. Not only do the new projectors bring better quality, but they also help other instruments achieve maximum efficiency.
“It lets us keep the star projector in a normal position,” said Keith Turner, planetarium director and club sponsor. Despite the advanced software, the projectors will debut on Nov. 21, the next public show, which will be co-hosted by Turner and club members.
