NHS members plan to hold a unique food drive at the end of January.
Although the first NHS meeting of second semester is on Jan. 9, NHS members hope to plan a food drive before then, according to sponsor Michelle Satchwell. NHS members will focus on making full meals to give to food banks. For larger meals, recipe cards will be given out along with ingredients. Students will donate the ingredients needed to complete these dishes. NHS officers are collaborating with health and nutrition teachers to come up with simple and healthy recipes for their food drive.
“It will be easier for the food banks, because they probably get a lot of cans of green beans and cream of mushroom,” NHS secretary Jenna Fattah said. “But if you just combine them together, you can have a nice green bean casserole.”
NHS will release further information about the food drive at future meetings.
