Speech team plans to meet on Jan. 29 in Room E149 to continue to prepare for their competition on Feb. 7 at Ben Davis High School. At the meeting, they will practice their scripts in front of the entire of the group, according to club sponsor Jacleen Joiner.

“They (club members) potentially will be presenting what they will present to the judges on Feb. 7 to the rest of the team,” Joiner said.

This meeting will be an interactive meeting. “We will have time to practice and revise our scipts for the meet,” sophomore Kate Hawkins said. “This is helpful because you get a feel of what it will be like on stage for the real thing.”

Hawkins also said practice is key to succeeding in meets. “You will feel less nervous if you practice days before the meet, rather than trying to cram it in the night before,” Hawkins said.
