The counselors are preparing for the annual Scholarship Night, which will take place on May 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The night recognizes seniors who received scholarships, either from the college they are attending or an outside organization, according to Melinda Stephan, College and Career Resource Center programming coordinator.
Additionally, those seniors who applied to the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) scholarships should have received a letter in the mail inviting them to scholarship night if they have been given a scholarship.
“You guys don’t know yet, but we know who’s getting various scholarships from the community,” Stephan said.
At this point, Stephan said the night is closed to only those seniors who receive an invitation either for turning in a form to be recognized or for the CEF scholarships.
Senior Maddie Engledow said she is going to Scholarship Night to be recognized for her scholarship to Miami University of Ohio.
Engledow said, “My parents encouraged me to be recognized, so that’s why I’m going.”
