Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) plans to meet in September in Room B206 to discuss issues about LGBT rights, according to club sponsor Jeremy Horner. The club usually meets twice a month throughout the year.
“I think it’s important to give students a safe place to talk about these sensitive issues, and this club is definitely the place to do it,” Horner said. “I’ve been sponsoring this club since my first year here and I truly love how it becomes a shelter for some of these kids.”
Melissa Allen, sophomore and club member, said he agrees with Horner and that members in this club feel very comfortable talking to each other.
“This club is kind of like a sharing ideas and problems space,” Allen said. “GSA is great for anyone who just wants to talk to someone else about what they are going through, and that what I like about it.”
