According to Student Assistance Coordinator Jane Wildman, Parent Awareness Night will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the freshman cafeteria.
“(Parent Awareness Night) is a night when parents and students can listen to a speaker who discusses relevant issues regarding teens,” Wildman said via e-mail.
Wildman said that the topic that will be discussed is “How to help your teen deal with stress.” Dr. Carol Hagan, Associate Provost for Student Academic Affairs at Butler University, will be speaking about the stresses that students face in high school and what to expect when they go to college. She will also give out some tools to help students through a variety of situations.
Wildman said she holds the event once a year and has held it for four years. She said, “(Parent Awareness Night) is to help educate parents about what is happening in the lives of teens.” By Amanda Nguyen <[email protected]>
