After one of the performances for Holiday Spectacular this past December, Legacy Concert founder and family friend, Jeff Boldt came up to me and asked if I would speak about a former choir director, Sam Chenoweth, at the upcoming Legacy Concert on April 13 at the Palladium. The Legacy Concert was created by Boldt this year to give thanks to the Carmel Choirs program for influencing students’ lives.
I love the idea of showing appreciation for the directors who have put in so much work for this program. Being on stage has been a part of my life since I was in second grade. It has shaped who I am and that is exactly what the Legacy Concert symbolizes. There are CHS alumni coming from all over to perform and show how Carmel Choirs has impacted their professional careers. The concert will give thanks to those who have shaped the program and allow them to thank the directors who have impacted them.
Getting the chance to speak at the Palladium about one of my favorite directors I have had is so important to me. Being in New Edition, Chenoweth’s choir, last year changed my life in so many ways and I cannot wait to thank him for all of the amazing opportunities he gave me. I grew so much performance-wise and personally and I made so many incredible friends. And I know I am not the only one who feels this way. So many people stay in the Carmel Choirs program because it really is a big supportive family. This year Accents has been my rock and I know there are other girls in the group that feel the same way. I am more than ready to show my appreciation for the program that has impacted me so greatly.
