Club Med’s next meeting will take place on Oct. 26. During this virtual meeting, club officers plan to invite an MD-PhD neuroscience student from the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Rineet Ranga, Club Med president and senior, said via email, “This guest speaker would be perfect for our club (as) he contains both interests of research and medicine in one, allowing our members to see the benefits of both careers.”
Club Med sponsor Alyssa Ament said she leaves decisions about choosing guest speakers and activities up to club officers.
According to Ranga, future club meetings will include guest speakers involved in COVID-19 vaccine development and public health.
Ranga said, “I still want to stress other opportunities in the medical field that people may be interested in, including research on public health, social determinants, CDC, (and) government positions related to health policy. I will in the future bring guest speakers and different projects members of the club can join to follow these interests.”
