During the next few weeks, members of Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) will be preparing for the State Leadership Conference and STAR Events. The next chapter meeting will take place on Feb. 4 for members of the Greyhound Cohort in Room B101. They will discuss upcoming competitions and work on their new projects.
FCCLA Adviser Nancy Spencer said via email, “Last semester worked well by having separate cohorts meet on separate days to make sure we meet the social distancing requirements. Students are working hard on their projects so we can participate and hopefully do well at state and STAR competitions.”
Ayaan Abbasi, FCCLA member and junior, said he is excited to work on his project and attend both of the competitions.
Abbasi said, “Things are definitely going to look different this year since it’s virtual, so that will definitely be something new that we have to work on adapting to judges. I’m hoping to do something a little more creative and unique for a project, whether that is designing clothing or baking something.”
