The CHS Angels club will not continue this year, according to former club sponsor Fran Rushing, due to lack of new leadership.
According to Rushing, not many students here know much about CHS Angels. Even if anyone did and was interested, Rushing said, she would not be able to sponsor the club because her schedule is busy.
Rushing was not the original sponsor of the club, she said, but when the original sponsor became too busy and asked her to sponsor the group three years ago, Rushing agreed. Now, she said, she has become too busy as well.
A busy schedule also stalled student leadership for the club.
“The young lady who was in charge was too busy and no one wanted to fill in,” said Rushing.
The club originally started during the 2004-05 school year as a charity service club. One of the last things members did before the club became inactive was gathering school supplies and donating them to the IPS schools.
