On Sept. 11, the women’s volleyball team will host its Carmel Dads Club night as it competes against Lawrence North at home. After winning the Mishawaka Invitational and defeating the Number-1 ranked Avon (http://blogs.indystar.com/preps/2012/09/04/hs-volleyball-carmel-tops-class-4a-state-rankings/), Head Coach Rich Coleman looks to extend the team’s undefeated season. The match will start at 6:30 p.m. and take place in the Eric Clark Activity Center.
According to Coleman, who is in his second season at this school, “The strong point of the team is our work ethic. We do a really good job of working hard every point.”
In order to prepare for this match, the team has talked about and reviewed scouting reports and the other team’s past strategies according to Lauren Pitz, four-year varsity starter and senior. Pitz said, “I think it’ll be a good game. They have strong players, but I know we can win.”
Amanda Merk, three-year varsity starter and senior, said, “In order to prepare for this match, we are hydrating and eating properly over the weekend. It’s a conference game, so we want to win.”
