The Latin Club will build a catapult on Sept. 29 after school in Room A231.
According to Rickett, “We will build a 12 by 12 by 12 catapult for the Indiana Junior Classical League competition. The catapults can be made out of anything; the one we will be making will be made out of mostly wood and some rope.”
The main Indiana Junior Classical League competition will take place Oct. 8 at Park Tudor School.
The catapult competition will not be the only part of the events at Park Tudor.
“There will be Latin lessons and a scavenger hunt,” Rickett said. “Dr. Barcio, an ex-Latin teacher who retired from Carmel in 1995, will talk. He is the one who started the catapult project in the ‘60s.”
