According to Stephanie Wu, UNICEF Club president and senior, UNICEF club members are preparing for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, which is scheduled to take place on Oct. 31. Club officers are also preparing for International Festival in November.
“Trick-or-treat for UNICEF is a tradition that has been going on for around 80 years for the UNICEF organization. Members will go out on Halloween day to ask for candy and donations as they trick-or-treat, and the proceeds will go to the UNICEF organization for charity. We send the proceeds by mail to the UNICEF organization,” Wu said.
“The club officers are planning for a booth at International Festival, and throughout October will still be selling Feed bags, which are trick-or-treating bags,” sponsor Jill Noel said. “The proceeds for the bags will also go to UNICEF.”
Wu said, “After Halloween, we will go to International Fair, which is towards the end of November. Right now we are planning for a booth, but the details will be discussed later. For now, we are just going to think of ways to raise more money.”
