Carmel Connects Club members will have their next meeting on Nov. 1. They anticipate no new major changes to their weekly Monday meetings in Room F104 as two Carmel Connects members are accepted into the Net Literacy board. Levi Kiser, club president and senior, remains on the board along with the two additional students according to Margaret Winans, Carmel Connects Club sponsor.
Carmel Connects Club plans to continue re-imaging and repairing computers for Net Literacy, an organization that promotes computer awareness, during their next meeting.
“I think new people on the (Net Literacy) board will not really change anything already planned for this year. It will definitely make (the new members) stronger Carmel Connects members though,” Winans said.
Current board members and Winans select prospective board members, according to Kiser.
“We talk to kids. We see kids who are the most responsible and who really want to stay in the club and move up,” Winans said.
“We really wanted to add some more new board members, but we didn’t have any more people at that spot yet. This year, though, there are a lot of new students working with us,” Kiser said.
