The call out meeting date for this year’s Model U.N. is currently still undecided according to club sponsor Tracy Hadden. Although Hadden does not know the exact date, she said it is possible that it would be sometime in October or November.
“We haven’t really heard much from anyone involved in the convention,” she said. “We’re trying to figure out a general schedule before we do too much.”
Senior Nikhil Dharan, who was a Model U.N. member last year, said that he plans to re-join this year.
“It’s a great experience for anyone who likes current events, social studies or learning about other cultures,” he said. “It doesn’t hurt to have some debate experience also.”
Hadden said that she doesn’t think the club will be doing anything different from previous years.
“Although I haven’t heard much, I don’t think the club will change much this year,” she said. “I don’t see any reason for it to.”
