According to Jim Inskeep, Athletics Director and club sponsor, the Senior Roundtable will resume meeting from its winter hiatus. Starting with the first meeting on Jan. 6, student athletes in spring sports nominated by the head coach of their respective sport will meet once a week during SRT for five weeks to discuss leadership and communication skills.
“About half of the (spring Senior Roundtable members) have already gone through this once, so we probably are going to have to make some adjustments (to the curriculum),” Inskeep said.
Sarah Bennett, a member of the spring Senior Roundtable, said although she has not been at a Roundtable meeting since the last school year, she is looking forward to communicating with leaders from other sport divisions.
The Senior Roundtable is the new name for the club known last school year as the Captain’s Meetings.
“We talk about things that come up when you’re in a leadership position, such as how to lead effectively, how to create team bonds and make sure that the negative things of the past don’t happen again,” Bennett said.
