The CHS Ambassadors show choir is preparing for its competition on Feb. 18 at Homestead High School in Ft. Wayne. The Ambassadors will perform at 3 p.m. that day. According to choir director Lamonte Kuskye, songs included in the competition set include everything from Broadway to pop styles of music.
“I love the process of working with the kids,” Kuskye said. “We all have so much fun practicing and working together to achieve what we really want.”
According to Kuskye, the choir practices on Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 7:30 a.m. and 6 to 9 p.m to perfect their competition show.
“We practice a lot, but not as much as some other schools which practice for four days a week,” Kuskye said.
Ambassador and senior Sarah Walker said she is “ecstatic” for competition season to begin.
“I’m mostly excited to see our hard work pay off,” Walker said. “When we rehearse and learn songs it seems fragmented. We learn bits and pieces of things here and there. We jump around, so it’s really neat to see it all start tying together.”
