The next meeting for Spanish Club is set to take place on March 6 after school, according to sponsor Kay Vazquez. At the meeting, officers plan to arrange for a dance instructor to offer salsa lessons to the club.
“An introduction to dance will be interesting for the kids,” Vazquez said. “I think it will introduce them to some Hispanic culture.”
Lindsey Walker, Spanish Club president and junior, said the event for this month is scheduled for Feb. 26.
“(For the event) we’ll make piñatas with a blown-up balloon then coat it with newspaper strips dipped in a mixture of flour and water,” Walker said.
The club will paint the dried piñatas the following day and fill them with candy.
Walker said, “I personally believe it’ll be a unique and exciting event to host for the club.”
