Color guard will head to Avon on Sept. 22 for its first competition of the season. This year’s show, “What a Tangled Web We Weave,” contains more dance, flag and weapon work than shows in years past.
“The whole band kind of starts off dancing in the beginning with very spidery poses and movement,” said Whitney Stone, teacher of flags and dance. “It’s going to be a very interesting show for the audience to watch.”
According to Callie Daet, member of guard and junior, color guard is ready for the show. “I cannot wait to show the audience and the other bands our amazing show and how much work and effort we’ve put into it,” she said.
Although performance requires a lot of work, Daet said that she feels the guard is prepared. “(One) challenge will be getting through all three movements in front of a crowd,” Daet said. “I think intriguing the audience will be a challenge. We are fierce and sassy in the show, so hopefully everyone catches onto it.”
