DIY Holiday Gifts, an event that allows teens to create their own holiday gifts for friends and family will take place Nov. 30 from any time after school to 5 p.m. in the program room of the Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL).
Students can make any types of handicrafts from origami, duct tape, calligraphy and more. This event was created in response to a grant from an organization called the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
According to Jamie Beckman, Young Adult Librarian at the CCPL, the best way for CHS students to get involved is to simply be there.
“We hope CHS students will take advantage of it,” Beckman said.
Junior William Chan said he is excited about DIY Holiday Gifts.
“I’m definitely going to go; it sounds really good,” Chan said. “I’m glad there’s a way for me to spend less money.“
