According to club sponsor Debbie Lesjak, Rotary Interact Club will have its next meeting on Jan. 16.
Club president and junior Madeline Moran said Rotary Interact will plan the January monthly service project at the next meeting.
“We want to go out somewhere for the next project, so maybe a nursing home or the Monon Center to help special needs kids. Since Rotary Interact has a small group of people, it’s not very hard to plan activities outside of school,” Moran said.
In addition, according to Lesjak, Rotary Interact is getting ready for its annual “Soles for Souls” project at the next meeting.
“‘Soles for Souls’ is a project where we collect shoes for people in (developing) countries. The shoes can be any kind of comfortable shoe and for any age,” Lesjak said.
Moran also said Soles for Souls takes place during February or March, but Rotary Interact will register sometime in February.
“We will send the organization an email, and they will send us boxes for students to put their donated shoes in. The boxes are really tall and have information about the organization on them,” Moran said.
