The CHS Anime Club has not scheduled any recent major events except for the end-of-the-year party, which will occur sometime in May, according to Yanying Chen, Anime Club president and junior.
However, according to Chen, between then and now, each meeting is unique. The members can choose what they want to watch and how they want to watch the anime episode. Popular anime series and episodes that members enjoy include “Ouran,” “Bleach,” “Naruto” and “Vampire Night.”
“We have different themed shows or something like that,” Chen said. “Feb. 11 is our next meeting, so we’ll have Valentines Day themed anime and Valentines Day themed food.”
Club meetings usually occur every other Monday after school in the large group instruction (LGI) room on the first floor of the Freshman Center, and announcements usually notify the students of them.
Anime Club sponsor Rita Winters also comments on her thoughts about the club so far this year.
“I feel like every time I go down there, it’s kind of crazy; there’s always lots of food,” Winters said. “I don’t think that anything has changed.”
According to Chen, everybody is welcome at meetings but should also prepare to watch some anime and have some fun.
