As the days until the Indiana Economics Challenge wind down, the members of the team continue to study during SRT. According to Michelle Foutz, sponsor of the CHS Economics Club, the prospects for this year’s team is great. Foutz said, “(The Economics Club) has a couple of great teams who definitely have the potential to go to Nationals.”
To prepare for the upcoming competition on April 9, Foutz provides the members with practice tests that she grades herself. Foutz said, “(The tests) make up the individual part of studying. But the majority of the time is in SRT.” In SRT, the students practice oral jeopardy questions similar to the Brain Game’s buzzer round.
Senior Vaibhav Vavilala said, “My favorite part of competition is the oral jeopardy question round. It’s really fast-paced and exciting.” According to Vavilala, there is also a multiple-choice section that accompanies the oral question round.
