DECA members have begun preparing for the Holiday Secret Shop, a DECA fundraiser. DECA will conduct the Holiday Secret Shop in the Spirit Shop Dec. 2 to 7. During this time, children from the age of about 2 to 10 may come to the Spirit Shop to buy gifts for their friends and family members.
According to DECA sponsor Laura Cardamon, DECA members receive a grade based on how many hours they work. To receive an A, DECA members must work at least 22 hours. Cardamon said this system allows the club to get a lot of work done on the preparations.
“We already have a great start,” Cardamon said.
DECA members work in various committees including those for buying, decoration, promotion and merchandising.
Erin Scott, DECA member and senior, is involved in the buying and merchandising committees. Scott said the DECA members have been very productive in their preparations for Holiday Secret Shop.
“I think (preparations for Holiday Secret Shop) are going well,” Scott said. “We have a great committee this year that’s on top of everything.”
