Although Interact Club has had a slow start to the year, members have been working their hardest to get the club organized for what’s to come. Club president and sophomore Gaby Khachatryan and other club members, have planned a secret project that involves anti-bullying. They plan to release more details about the surprise project when the club gets more organized.
Currently, the club is still hoping to attract new members. “We’ve had some things said over announcements here and there; however, it wasn’t as publicized as we had hoped,” Khachatryan said. “We plan for even bigger things to come.”
Every once in a while, she said the club meets to simply have fun and hang out. “One of the meetings of the month will be something social, where we have food or pizza and watch movies,” sponsor Debbie Lesjak said. “This way, (the club) attracts a wide variety of people.”
Interact Club’s goal for this year is simple. “I really think we need to just reorganize and get back to where we were,” Lesjak said.
“The club has been off to a rocky start but I really hope everything will fall into place soon,” Khachatryan said. “I plan to keep the club going as long as I can.”
Club meeting dates have yet to be decided.
