Members of the Family, Community and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) will attend the FCCLA State Conference March 8-10 in Indianapolis, according to Vivian Heerens, club president and senior.
According to club sponsor Nancy Spencer, around 20 club members are participating in Students Taking Action with Recognition (S.T.A.R.) events at the Conference.
“S.T.A.R. events encompass several different areas, such as cooking and mock job interviews,” Heerens said. “We usually have about 20 or so students participate every year.”
According to Heerens, the club will also begin planning for their annual fundraiser to benefit “Share Our Strength,” an organization that combats child hunger.
“We haven’t decided on any dates yet, but we will be participating in something at the state level,” Heerens said.
